Pretty good deli, though not my favorite in the area. The $1.50 egg and cheese sandwich is a really good deal, but I constantly run into problems with the guys behind the counter getting my order right. Whether it's the wrong kind of cheese or wrong kind of bread, I find myself having to correct them or remake my sandwich more often that I should at a deli. I should not that's usually only the case with breakfast sandwiches - I'm not sure if it's because they usually have a line and get confused, but getting the bread and cheese type wrong more often than not seems to be a big issue.

The biggest selling point of Smiler's is, without a doubt, the make-your-own-salads. It's not a unique amenity to offer in NYC these days, but it is one of the best in the area. The selection is great (the sauteed brussels sprouts are a personal favorite), their ingredients are fresh and they aren't afraid to give you a lot, and the price is unbeatable. I can walk out of their with a big, filling salad made perfectly to my liking for about $7.

Friendly staff, and pretty lenient with the credit card minimum too.

I got an omelette for 9.50 that looks like picture attached. I ordered extra turkey and got 2 paper-thin slices of cold cut turkey for 2 dollars. I could have gotten a bountiful beef steak bowl at chipotle across the street. I will never come back.

$2. Bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll.

Do I *have* to continue this review?

Fine, I guess I can mention how absolutely delicious the sandwich is. And how the bacon is mostly perfectly crispy (today it was less crispy, more chewy, but rare when that happens). OR HOW IT'S $2!!!??

The cooks are always friendly and have your sandwich freshly prepared for you in no time at all, which is greatly appreciated since I'm usually grabbing it with a solid minute before I'm supposed to be at work!

If you grab a coffee it's a do it yourself set up. Personally, I enjoy that. I hate getting a coffee and asking for cream in it, only to find either too little or too much poured in. At least here it's all you.

Breakfast sandwiches are great here and so is the buffet depending on what you get. I never really came here for lunch but i hear you can aquire some pretty good food from the buffet at the right time. My sandwiches always taste as good as they smell while they are being prepared.. i will always come here for a breakfast sandwich if i am in need of a fix.

This deli has most things that one would want: Diet snapple peach in 32 oz. bottles for consumption (as does the Morton Williams market a few blocks away), a western egg while omelet in the morning from a friendly korean guy and toast from a friendly japanese guy (unfortunately they both don't work there anymore), way too many homefries, I'm talking about way too many, and it's hit or miss sometimes they are great sometimes they are dry.

The lunch buffet here is deceiving, although they put it out fairly early so I can take a look at it to see if anything there is worth coming back for lunch over. Their new england clam chowder is pretty good actually, as is some of their hot food items, but the selection is poor, redundant, and not very complementing. However, overall, besides it being expensive like every other deli in the area, it manages to heat up some decent dumplings and pork once in a while, and like I said, you can't go wrong with a 32 oz. bottle of Diet Snapple Peach, it's totally where it's at.
